However, you may accumulate a large number of bookmarks over time, and navigating through them may be difficult. Furthermore, the address of every Web page that you bookmark may change, and as a consequence, some of your bookmarks may no longer function.
You may be wondering how to remove bookmarks in Google Chrome if you discover that you have unneeded, inaccurate, or irrelevant bookmarks. Fortunately, Google has simplified the bookmarking process, making it easy to delete an unwanted bookmark.
Bookmarks and history are treated differently. When you clear the history in Google Chrome, you are deleting everything Chrome has stored about your surfing history. A bookmark you make, on the other hand, is something you deliberately saved and will not be erased when you clean your history. As a result, the process for removing Google Chrome bookmarks differs somewhat.
Step 1: Launch the Google Chrome browser.
Step 2: In the top-right right corner of the screen, click the Customize and control Google Chrome button.
Step 3: Select Bookmarks, then Bookmark Manager from the drop-down menu.
Step 4: Navigate to a bookmark you want to delete from Chrome, right-click it, and choose Delete.
Continue removing bookmarks from Chrome in this way until all of the ones you don’t want are gone. The Bookmark Manager tab may then be closed and regular surfing resumed.
You may remove several bookmarks at once by holding down the Ctrl key on your computer while clicking each undesirable bookmark. After you’ve chosen all of the bookmarks you wish to remove, right-click one of them and choose the Delete option.
You may also remove an entire folder of bookmarks by right-clicking the folder and selecting Delete from the menu.
If the bookmark bar is constantly visible at the top of the window, see our article on concealing the bookmark bar in Chrome. This will not only conceal your bookmarks from other users of your browser but will also free up some space at the top of the page.
